Our 20 week summer share season is wrapping up and it’s time to start thinking about fall shares! This year we are offering a 5 week produce share that will begin October 23rd and take you up to the Tuesday of Thanksgiving. We’ll load you up with a bunch of goodies to help you prepare a fantastic Thanksgiving meal, pie pumpkin, onions, carrots, parsnips, potatoes…all you’ll need is the turkey!
Fall share will be 5 weeks for $90.
The fall shares usually include 1 winter squash each week–there is a plethora of winter squash available, so we try a different variety each week: Delicata, Red Kuri, Stella Blue, and Acorn are some of the ones we’ve had in the past and they are all fantastic. Early on we may still be getting tomatoes and peppers and greens, depending on when the first hard frost arrives. By the end we’ll get grains and lots of root veggies.
We won’t sell egg shares but depending on availability, we’ll have eggs for sale on a first come, first served basis. Fall is when chickens molt and that, combined with the shorter days, slows down their egg laying. It becomes a challenge to provide enough eggs by the end of the summer share season.
Pick up time is Tuesday from 11am – 1:30pm at the Lewis & Clark County fairgrounds’ Bill Hamilton 4-H building. Pick up time may be subject to change, as the delivery truck was often arriving after 10:00am last year. We will keep you posted on any changes in pick up time.

This year we are taking CASH or CHECK or MONEY ORDER only for fall shares. No credit card orders, sorry for any inconvenience.
DETAILS ABOUT OUR SHARES
Produce share: Enjoy freshly harvested Montana-grown produce for 20 weeks! We source as much of our produce as possible from growers in the Helena Valley and surrounding communities, but what we cannot find locally, we obtain from the Western Montana Grower’s Cooperative. Follow the seasons with herbs and leafy greens early in the summer, followed by tomatoes, peppers, plums, and cherries in mid-summer, wrapping up with potatoes, onions, carrots, and a plethora of other root vegetables in the fall. This is local, seasonal, sustainable eating at its finest–nothing travels more than 150 miles to reach your kitchen! For each week, 1 share will usually consist of 5-7 different items, depending on availability. All of our produce is produced using sustainable methods; many farms are USDA certified organic while others are certified Homegrown, which is an organic designation in Montana. Some fruits, such as apples, are produced using Integrated Pest Management, but we seek out organically grown fruits first.
