No Cheese, Milk, or Fun Shares this summer

Community Supported Agriculture, CSA, Uncategorized

Hi everyone!  Due to lack of interest, we will not be offering cheese, milk, or fun shares this year.  We have to purchase these items in specific quantities and with the lack of interest, we are just not going to offer them this summer.  We may try again next year.

If you purchase a share online, you may still see these shares in our store.  Please do not add them to your cart.  They will be removed shortly by one of our volunteers when time allows.  Thanks for your patience in this matter.

We are still selling produce and egg shares, so if you haven’t yet signed up, you’ve got a few more weeks to do so.  We’ll stop taking orders May 30.

We’re looking for a volunteer!

Happy Solstice, everyone! This is my favorite day of the year. Why? Because beginning tomorrow, the days start to get longer! We have finally reached the shortest, darkest day of the year. And on this longest night, it is going to be bitter cold outside so I am sitting by the wood stove while I […]

I’ve been radio silent for a couple of weeks–other priorities have taken my time away from videos and blogging. Such is life, I suppose. This is the last week of the CSA and then I’ll have a bit of a break. We had a really good season, but I am looking forward to focusing on […]

Winter squash burgers and coleslaw–using Week 3’s share

CSA, Food, Recipes

Hey fellow locavores!  If you like winter squash and veggie burgers, then you should give this a try.  And I made a smokin’ good chipotle coleslaw with the share this week.  Try it out!

I’m not going to wax poetic about these veggie burgers. I’ll let them speak for themselves. But I WILL say that you ought to give them a try. I really dressed mine up with the chipotle & dried cranberry coleslaw I made to go with them, as well as some dill pickle, Swiss chard or […]

One way to use some of your local CSA goodies

CSA, Food, Recipes, Weekly Shares

Hey everyone!  This delicious recipe uses kale, lentils, thyme, rosemary and onions from the CSA.  The pork sausage and garlic powder are local, too.  All you need are some sweet potatoes and you’ve got a very delicious, very nutritious meal!

Early this afternoon I took a look in the pantry and was uninspired. “What am I going to do for dinner tonight?” I thought. While working through the rest of the afternoon, I let this little conundrum roll around in the back of my head. Inspiration usually hits me if I just let my subconscious […]
